Our first meeting of the new Masonic Year was extremely enjoyable and held a few surprises for all who attended.
First was the presence of our new DDGM for North Huron District, R.W. Brother Richard Elliott on a fraternal visit. Other visitors were W. Bro Tom Harland, a good friend of our candidate who came from Orillia and our own W. Bro. Jim Moffatt who drove up from London.
The work of the evening was the Raising of Bro David Wall to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. It went very well from the time he proved his proficiency to the Final Charge. A number of brethren took parts for the first time and an (almost) exemplary degree ensued.
After the degree work was completed, W. Bro Tom Harland gave an animated and moving rendition of a Masonic Poem, which encompassed the philosophy of each degree.
Before the Lodge was closed, Bro Jason Barlow provided an interesting piece of Masonic Education and W Bro Tom Harland presented Bro David Wall with an embossed VSL, already signed by many of his erstwhile colleagues.
As one will gather it was a truly enjoyable evening, unfortunately missed by a number of brethren. We hope that this report and the pictures below will encourage members and visitors to come out to our future meetings.
